Been reading fantasy books for over 35 years now.
This was an easy read, great story and I want book 2. The characters were engaging and the story moved on without lots of unnecessary waffle from the author. The world building was well written making the scenes easy to visualise, likewise the characters.
Well worth a read.

I loved this book. The different personalities and factions at Silverspire Castle got my imagination. I particularly enjoyed when the story took a left turn and we went to some of the other towns in Ardanthia, such as Marinth and Saltspire. My favourite character is definitely Ryn. I'm looking forward to book two as there is so much more to explore in this world.
